We all know that in the field of injection molding, avoiding defects and various flaws in order to produce products with better brightness has always been the pursuit of our manufacturers. However, due to various reasons, the final product often has various defects. Therefore, today we have compiled some tips on injection molding molds to help increase glossiness and provide some assistance in injection molding.
In terms of injection molds
If the mold cavity processing is not excellent enough, such as scars, micropores, wear, roughness, and other defects, it will definitely affect the plastic parts, resulting in a large degree of adverse consequences and causing poor glossiness of the plastic parts. Therefore, the mold should be carefully processed to significantly reduce the roughness on the surface of the cavity, and polishing and chrome plating can also be chosen when necessary to achieve the best results.
If there are some untreated oil or water stains on the surface of the mold cavity, or if too much release agent is used, the surface of the plastic part will appear dull and dull. When encountering such a situation, it is necessary to promptly remove the oil and water stains, and at the same time limit the amount of release agent used.
If the demolding slope of the plastic part is too small, making it difficult to demold, or if the demolding is subjected to excessive force, resulting in a surface smoothness of the plastic part that is too small, then the demolding slope should be increased to ensure the smoothness of the plastic part.
If the exhaust performance of the mold is not very good, excessive gas will remain in the model, which can also lead to poor gloss in the final product after molding. Therefore, it should be checked and corrected to ensure that the mold exhaust system has sufficient exhaust performance and avoid the presence of trapped gases.
If the cross-sectional area of the sprue or runner is too small or fluctuates greatly, it will cause excessive shear force on the melt during flow, resulting in turbulent dynamic flow of the melt and poor glossiness of the final product. Therefore, the cross-sectional area of the runner and gate should be appropriately increased to reduce shear force, avoid turbulence, and improve the glossiness of the product.
